Comments
Beam quality: The polarised beam intensity was about 109 proton/sec with a maximum polarisation of 55%.
Target: The beryllium targets used were 4.6 mg/cm2 and 27.9 mg/cm2 thick.
Data obtained: author graph (digitized with GSYS 2.4)
The proton linear accelerator at Rutherford High Energy Laboratory Chilton was used to produce the 50 MeV protons. The pulsed beam from the accelerator had a pulse duration of 200 mcs and a rate of 50 pulses/set.
