Beam quality: The average intensity was 8 106 ions 17F9 per second. Target: The target used was a self-supporting Pb foil with a nominal thickness of 1.8 mg/cm2. Data obtained: author graph (digitized with GSYS 2.4)The experiment was carried out at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility. A 44 MeV deuteron beam from the Oak Ridge isochronous cyclotron was incident on a fibrous hafnium oxide target to produce short-lived 17F by the 16O(d,n)17F reaction.
