Comments
Beam quality: The beam current on the target was between 50 and 60 nA of 6Li(3+) and 5 to 8 nA on 9Be(3+).
Target: The self supporting 9Be targets had an areal density of ~40 μg/cm2. In the case of 6Li targets consisted of a backing layer of carbon (~10 μg/cm2) on which ~50 μg/cm2 of 99.9% isotopically pure 6Li was deposited by vacuum evaporation.
Data obtained: author graph (digitized with GSYS 2.4)
The 6Li and 9Be baems produced by an IONEX 860 sputter source were accelerated with the EN Tandem Van de Graaff accelerator of the University of the Witwaterstrand.
